Czech Republic: Industrial output growth ebbs in July

September 8, 2022

Industrial output increased 0.9% year on year in working-day adjusted terms in July (June: +2.8% yoy). July's figure was largely due to a deterioration in manufacturing production. In addition, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply output lost steam.

On a seasonally-adjusted monthly basis, factory output fell 0.3% in July (June: +1.7% mom). Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 1.0%, down from June's minus 0.6%.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial output to expand 1.6% in 2022, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. In 2023, they see industrial production growing 3.8%.
