Manufacturing activity expands at quickest pace in six months in June
Manufacturing output grew 1.9% month-on-month in seasonally-adjusted terms in June (May: -1.6% mom). The reading marked the best result since December 2021.
On an annual basis, manufacturing production dropped 0.1% in June, a smaller decline than May’s 2.0% fall. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average growth of manufacturing production coming in at 1.3% in June, down from May's 2.7% reading.
FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect manufacturing output to grow 5.4% in 2022, which is up 0.5 percentage points from last month’s estimate, and increase 3.6% in 2023.
